Intro
Glenmore-Ellison Improvement District (GEID) is an independent Public Water Utility providing water to approximately 23,000 people (approximately 9,600 service connections) in Kelowna, B.C and parts of the Regional District of Central Okanagan. The District has a serviceable area of just over 9,100 acres. The District is governed under the Local Government Act and reports to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. The Local Government Act gives local governments authority to deal with a full range of local issues including elections, taxations, services, regulations and planning. The District’s fees and charges are closely monitored by the Ministry and are levied by way of Bylaws.
