Election & AGM
As a result of the May 3rd Election, Joe Bulach and Horst Grams were re-elected to the Board of Trustees for three (3) year terms. The ballot counts were:
- Bulach, Joe 109 votes
- Grams, Horst 126 votes
- James, Graeme 98 votes
Election of Trustees
There are five elected trustees on the Board of the District. The Trustees' terms are for three years unless they were elected to fill the remainder of the term for a Trustee who resigned.
Trustee and Voter Qualifications
A trustee must be a Canadian citizen; eighteen years of age or older; an owner of land in the District, or the authorized agent of any board or corporation that is an owner of such land, or legal representative of any owner of such land; and is entitled to be registered as a voter under the Election Act. Every person qualified as a Trustee is qualified to vote.
Please note that voters are restricted to landowners within the District or authorized agents of boards/corporations with land or legal representatives of landowners. Non-landowners or tenants may not vote.
The Letters Patent of the District stipulate that an Annual General Meeting shall be held each year between January 1st and May 1st for the following purposes:
- to receive a report on the conditions of the works and a statement of the financial condition of the District;
- to discuss any matter relating to the works or finances of the District;
- to fix the remuneration of the Trustees for the ensuing year;
- and to choose the auditor for the ensuring year.
