Water tolls are charged quarterly with payments due March 1st, June 1st, September 1st and December 1st. The following rates apply:
-
Metered Stratas and multi-family complexes containing townhomes and bare land stratas are billed according to the number of units at a flat rate of $117.00 per unit, per quarter. The annual charge per unit is $468.00. In addition to this flat rate, water consumption to the complex is metered and billed at the end of each quarter, if consumption has exceeded the allotment for the complex.
-
Complexes in an apartment-style building are billed according to the number of units at a flat rate of $90.00 per unit, per quarter. The annual charge per unit is $360.00. In addition to this flat rate, water consumption to the complex is metered and billed at the end of each quarter, if consumption has exceeded the allotment for the complex.
-
Non-metered stratas and multi-family complexes are billed according to the number of units at a flat rate of $132.00 per unit, per quarter. The annual charge per unit is $528.00.
The above rates are based on a per-unit quarterly allotment of 90 cubic meters.
In addition to water tolls, NON stratified complexes are also charged for "A" grade irrigation taxes. The irrigation tax is based on GEID's assessment of the property and is based on acreage. "A" grade taxes are billed in October with payment due December 1st.
In addition to water tolls, stratified complexes, where GEID owns and maintains the water lines and valves within the complex, are charged an "S1" tax. These taxes are billed in October with payment due December 1st. In most cases, these S1 strata complexes have been built since 2008 and GEID has a statutory right of way registered within the property protecting its works.
Irrigation taxes are not charged on strata complexes that are assessed by GEID as "S" properties. GEID does not own nor maintain any of the works within "S properties. All valves, water mains and hydrants, etc., within an "S" property, as well as any costs for their maintenance, repair and replacement, are the responsibility of the strata owners.
